Thousand Layer Quartz is a type of Lodolite Quartz. The layers of Lodolite were formed from the wind and rain, and the quartz grew around these formations over thousands of years. Eventually the quartz presented with these beautiful layered inclusions of Lodolite. While Lodolite Quartz, known also as Shaman Stone, Garden Stone, and Scenic Quartz, is found throughout the world, this particular formation of Lodolite Quartz, known as Thousand Layer Quartz is only found in China.
