Moonstone is a gemstone from the feldspar groups Orthoclase and Oligoclase. Named for its unique play of color known as adularescence, Moonstone's sheen resembles moonlight. Black Moonstone is a gorgeous silky smooth stone with a velvety silver flash which plays across its surface when moved about in the light. Its color ranges from a dark slate grey to lighter shades of grey and sometimes reflects a red undertone.
Black Moonstone holds the same metaphysical properties of any other color Moonstone. However, whereas white, cream, and peach colors are associated with the full moon, Black Moonstone is associated with the New Moons bringing in the manifestation properties of this moon. Moonstone is primarily associated with the sacral chakra but also relates to the third eye and crown chakra. It is primarily cream, brown, and white, though it also can be found in black, silver, grey, green, pink, peach, and blue. Metaphysically, Moonstone is used for intuition and insight.
